MIRRAR WORLD

Combining indigenous virtual reality storytelling with an experimental collaborative soundtrack by Jaime xx and Daniel Stricker, Mirarr World explores the stories and culture of the Mirarr people in an inventively poetic way.

Mirarr world has been developed as a collaborative project with the Mirarr to help keep their stories and culture alive and to share with the world. Much of the content for the experience has been created by indigenous youth and artists from the region. As part of the film, and program, we delivered 6DOF VR equipment to local schools for indigenous kids to create content to live in the world. Further, we consulted the Mirarr about capturing sacred lands and stories. We came up with an innovative way to capture landscapes in LiDar scanning, so as not to take photo's, for cultural sensitivity, and present in a conceptual framework: all matter is connected, the people, the place, the energy, everything is represented as dots, point clouds, to illustrate the indigenous belief that we "are" the land. Directed by Daniel Stricker and Vincent Heimann. Coming soon..
